Hello there

Hello there

Why is it that every time I have a new idea, I feel like I need to create a new site? I thought I was done with that and had finally managed to reduce my number of sites/blogs to just four (or is it five?)

The worst part? This time it's not even so much a new idea as wanting to try out Ghost's ActivityPub integration. So I created a new site/blog/newsletter just for that.

I'll tell you about the ActivityPub thing later (in short: it's a good start, but it's definitely still in beta and lacks tons of basic features at the moment, but it's a good start).

Right now, since this is a first post, I guess I need to tell you what this site is about. Which is a problem because... I still have to figure it out myself. I have some ideas, but they haven't really been put into words yet.

But I mean, I called this site Glitched Earth, there must be a reason for that, right? Well, yeah. The Glitched Earth is a vague concept that I've had in my head for a while. It's about everything that's happening that shouldn't be happening. Basically.

Some of it is very obvious, just look at the news, almost every day. You know, things like we're destroying the only planet we have with oblivious bliss and things like that. But it can also be positive things. Unexpected things. Improbable things. My life too. I don't want to sound presumptuous, but my life is full of such glitches. I never did anything big, anything earth-shattering, but sometimes I feel like my life is just a series of improbable and somewhat unrealistic mini-events. So, yes, this blog might even be a bit more personal than the ones I usually write.

In short: What will it be about? We'll see.

And I invite you to come and see with me.
Tempted?

And for the Fediverse users reading this, if this ActivityPub integration turns out to be as promising as it might be, it might become my Fediverse home as well, but we're still a long way from that.

Stay tuned.
